Why the 35mm Voigtlander nokton f/1.2 Asph MkII??? Especially now, when I already own several of the best 35mm lenses ever made......It's a good question!! Well, curiosity in the main, a curiosity that's been reignited, not by this lens but by the new 50mm Nokton f/1.5 Asph. I'll attempt to explain myself. So good is the 50/1.5 that I decided I should finally scratch an "itch" that started almost two years ago when I was on the waiting list for the 35 Lux and ignorantly ignoring my 35 Cron. I've read so many good things about the 35mm voigtlander nokton f/1.2 and if its anything like as good as the 50/1.5 then I want to see it for myself.
I don't need a faster 35mm lens than the Summilux and both the current Summicron and the 8 Element v.1 are about as good as it gets in this focal length, it could however be useful to me to have an option that I'm less protective of in certain situations.......it's just a thought at the moment, forward planning to something I'll be doing next year.
Despite living in NZ I usually buy my Voigtlander lenses from www.cameraquest.com however this one was a pre-owned bargain from ebay with a UV filer and Hood.
I'm looking forward to seeing how the 35mm voigtlander nokton f/1.2 lens compares to my other 35's. Interested to hear first hand experiences from anyone that has owned this lens!!
